A Hub of Expertise in the UK Space Ecosystem
Kayser Space UK was incorporated in September 2015.
Kayser Space UK supports innovators in translating life‑science and biotechnology research from the terrestrial laboratory to leveraging space environments. We specialise in the design, manufacture, qualification, and operation of scientific payloads for microgravity research and human exploration in Low Earth Orbit (LEO).
With more than 30 years of combined experience in the space sector, our team brings strong technical and programmatic expertise across payload design, systems engineering, and mission delivery. We work closely with researchers, startups, and industrial partners to transform novel concepts into flight‑ready, automated space experiments, guiding projects from early feasibility through launch, in‑orbit operations, and return.
Our capabilities include life‑science and microgravity bespoke experiment design, microfluidic systems, mechanical and electronic hardware, software development, and data‑driven analysis. We deliver full manufacturing, assembly, integration, and verification activities, alongside rigorous qualification and test campaigns that meet space agency requirements. Product assurance, safety, and compliance with European and international space standards are embedded throughout.
Beyond engineering, Kayser Space acts as a strategic partner. We help shape study direction, build and manage consortia, and translate benchtop protocols into robust, automated payloads designed for the constraints of the space environment. We interface directly with space agencies, microgravity service providers, payload specialists, and launch authorities to ensure seamless coordination across all stakeholders.
The company is located in the Harwell Campus, Didcot, Oxfordshire, an international environment where entrepreneurs and top-level researchers and specialists in different scientific and technical disciplines work in state-of-the-art facilities to deliver outstanding programmes in the space, health and energy sectors. The company has easy access to top class integration and test facilities, including clean rooms, climatic chambers, vibration test equipment, anechoic chambers and biological integration benches.
Kayser Space UK is affiliated to UKspace, the UK space trade association which represents the UK space industry to government and other key stakeholders nationally and internationally.
