Kayser Space is interested in evaluating applications for the recruitment of a professional to join its Product Assurance & Safety Department, specifically in the role of Product Assurance & Safety Engineer/Manager.
The professional to be recruited into the Product Assurance & Safety Department must be disciplined, versatile and motivated by continuous improvement. Previous experience gained in the space sector or in similar sectors will be duly evaluated for the purposes of professional grading and the onboarding path. The position is open both to junior profiles, for whom a structured training and professional growth path toward the role of Product Assurance Engineer is planned, and to experienced profiles, who may immediately take on coordination and management responsibilities typical of the Product Assurance Manager role.
This job opportunity will allow you to work on projects commissioned by international and national government agencies such as NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration), ESA (European Space Agency), ASI (Italian Space Agency), and by major companies in the sector (Airbus, Thales, etc.) and to be immediately involved in activities of great interest in the aerospace sector such as Satellites, the International Space Station, Lunar Rovers, scientific research and much more.
The role involves:
- Define Product Assurance plans and verify their compliance with ECSS standards and customer-specific requirements, including the preparation of compliance matrices and verification plans.
- Lead PA/QA activities throughout the entire product life cycle, from conceptual design to initial testing, including the definition of quality controls and key assurance milestones.
- Derive, tailor and manage PA, QA, RAMS and EEE requirements for conceptual and preliminary design, ensuring traceability of system-level objectives and regulatory frameworks.
- Management of and participation in PA meetings with the relevant boards (e.g. PCB, MPCB, MIP/KIP, Safety Review)
- Support and participation in project meetings (SRR, PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR, AR, etc.)
- Management and preparation of technical documentation (M&P Lists, EEE Component List, FMEA, CIL, CIDL/ABCL, Hazard Report, etc.).
- Support the resolution of non-conformities and NRBs with the customer.
- Promote a culture focused on quality and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree in a technical field, preferably in aerospace and/or electronics;
- Knowledge of ECSS standards and other PA/QA standards of the aerospace industry;
- Preferably one/three years of experience in the aerospace sector with experience in Product Assurance, Quality Assurance roles for the junior profile, and three/five years for experienced profiles,;
- Experience in RAMS and FMECA analyses and risk management methodologies;
- Experience in preparing Non-Conformance Reports and managing Non-Conformance Reviews is a plus;
- Direct experience in the validation of technological processes is a plus;
- Direct experience in Radiation Analysis on electronic components is a plus;
- Direct experience in upscreening of electronic components (e.g. according to MIL and ESCC standards) is a plus;
- Good knowledge of EN 9100 and ISO 9001 standards.
Mandatory knowledge:
- Good knowledge of the English language: Level B2 or higher;
- Excellent knowledge of the Office package (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint);
